Time to do a little research. There were two episodes. The first, a very large craft, and a later event that night that may have been military flares. Perhaps that was meant as a smokescreen.

GUYS GUYS!! It's not me with the problem.....it's my closed minded uncle.

I know alot about the Phoenix lights. I know there were 2 different events....one around 8:00pm where an actual HUGE structured craft was seen, and the one shortly after 10:00 pm that was lights in a row.
So forth and so forth. .....It's my uncle that says they were just flares, not me.
 
Anyway, my intial question to ET was about announcing to the world that they are here, so that I could rub it in the face of my fundamental evangelical asshole uncle.
He claims they are either not real, or that they are demons here to "lead us astray".
A bit petty I agree, but he would make Mother Teresa swear a blue streak.

Yep. Their smokescreen worked very well. The light array vids get all the attention. I've seen the initial ufo. vid. taken by a fireman. It's very rare unfortunately. The day I come across it again on the net, I'll be sure to post though. If that day comes, sticky it lol. Or allow me to if I have that ability:)

My father who is a "ufo believer" says the same thing about them being flares (light array vids). He saw them everyday in the army he says. He's very sure and rolls his eyes anytime it's suggested otherwise by people. I find it interesting the difference in conclusions drawn from the same vids with people.

The videos you've seen are of the later event, the ones that might be flares, and not of the original sighting of a large object.

Correct in regards to my father's comments. I thought I made that clear. If not in the post quoted, in my other reply.

Well actually, I HAVE SEEN video of the (or A) alleged earlier ufo on that night.

Ask Bruce Maccabee about it.
 
Were you a member of MUFON around the time of the event Gene? Say, 2-4 months after it? Within a few months in their journal/newsletter they dealt with the earlier "ufo" vid and included a still or two. I've seen the vid in motion. I'm pretty sure Bruce Maccabee has seen it too. If not, then I have went crazier than has already been established. Or, have been HEAVILY misinformed over the years.
