This Week's Episode: Gene and cohost Tim Swartz present Kurt Konecny, one of the co-hosts of the podcast “The Strange Sessions.” In the podcast, Kurt and his friend and fellow ghosthunter Krista look into stories of the strange, whether it’s poltergeists, alien abduction, time travel, Bigfoot, or the nature of reality itself. Expecting only a few friends and family to listen to their podcast, Kurt and Krista were amazed when people they didn’t know started listening and joining their Facebook group. A lifelong Wisconsin native, Kurt has been into the paranormal ever since he was a child, experiencing several unexplained things in the house he grew up in. This blossomed into a lifelong fascination with ghosts, aliens, and anything spooky, eventually joining the Wisconsin-based paranormal research group Heartland Paranormal Investigations and doing investigations all over the Midwest. Kurt believes that the world is far stranger than anyone realizes. And that’s a good thing, because without that sense of mystery and wonder, life would just be dull. He also has a chapter about the synchronicity of numbers and time in the upcoming book: “Weird Time — Exploring the Mysteries of Time and Space.” Gene has also contributed a chapter to this book. You can listen to “The Strange Sessions” podcast at: The Strange Sessions | Kurt and Krista.

After The Paracast — Available exclusively for Paracast+ subscribers on May 5: Paranormal investigator and podcaster Kurt Konecny returns to talk with Gene and cohost Tim Swartz about such topics as the shenanigans of MK Ultra, how it may have impacted at least some UFO abductions, and various forms of interference to prevent solving the UFO mystery. There are also discussions about the April 8, 2024 solar eclipse and how previous events of this sort have fueled conspiracies of one sort or another. Other subjects covered include pop culture references, especially as they relate to sci-fi films. Kurt is one of the co-hosts of the podcast “The Strange Sessions.” In the podcast, Kurt and his friend and fellow ghosthunter Krista look into stories of the strange, whether it’s poltergeists, alien abduction, time travel, Bigfoot, or the nature of reality itself. No Evidence of An Alien Coverup?
By Gene Steinberg

It should come as no surprise that most people simply do not believe what the government tells us, particularly in the U.S. Years of lying, misinformation, political machinations, such as needless undeclared wars, and the need to hide embarrassing situations have combined to destroy the trust.

It’s hard to suggest where it started. I mean, with World War II, in this country everyone appeared to be a patriot, or most people. Well, that’s the way it seems whenever I hear a vintage radio broadcast from the Radio Classics site. In those days, super heroes fought Nazis, Superman stood for “truth, justice and the American way.”

It may have seemed normal for its time, at least if you lived in the U.S.. But people in other countries might have been concerned about the emphasis on this country’s patriotic memes in those shows and spots.

But there was still some questioning about what our government told the people.

Things got real bad during the Vietnam War, where people began to distrust what officials were telling them. There were massive demonstrations of what seemed an endless unnecessary war.

And of course there was always the unexpected fate of President Richard Milhous Nixon. His statement when confronted by the Watergate crisis was direct and shorn of political speak: “People have got to know whether or not their President is a crook. Well, I’m not a crook. I’ve earned everything I’ve got.”

It wasn’t long before he resigned.

But that was about the growing mass disbelief in government statements. But people in our corner of the world were always skeptical over one thing or another, such as the statement that there was nothing significant about the UFO mystery.

For most people, it wasn’t on their radar; forgive the pun.

Even after the U.S. Air Force used the dismissive Condon Report as an excuse to get out of the flying saucer business, they returned on rare occasions to say something about something or other related to the phenomenon.

Take the claims that the Roswell UFO crash from 1947 was just a Project Mogul balloon. Never mind that researcher Kevin D. Randle talked to the person doing the scheduling of those flights, who confirmed there wasn’t one at the time.

I suppose it’s always possible that the records were not correct for some reason, and memories are faulty. It’s not as if anyone is around who can resolve the matter one way or another.

How I wish there were time machines to find the truth about Roswell. Otherwise, unless the wreckage of a crashed spaceship is revealed and displayed in public — not to mention some alien bodies — we probably will never know.

Now as I said, distrust in the government was certainly fueled by the Nixon scandal.

So it’s not just UFOs where people feel the powers-that-be are too tolerant of lies and misinformation.

Returning to our areas of interest, you can’t forget the MJ-12 documents that falsely claimed the existence of a government group charged with exploring UFO crashes and other alleged evidence. They turned up in the 1980s, and were greeted by many researchers (such as our own Bob Zanotti) with skepticism because the formatting and key details were incorrect.

Over the years, such characters as AFOSI disinformation agent Richard Doty, and UFO researcher William Moore, co-author of “The Roswell Incident,” the book that introduced the case into the public’s consciousness, have been blamed for being all or partly responsible for MJ-12.

Whom can you trust?

More recently, the discovery of a secret Pentagon UAP research project, as revealed in an 2017 article in The New York Times, regenerated interest in what the government was up to. At the same time, most people who follow the UFO mystery have long believed the governments of Earth have the goods on what it’s all about, but have chosen not to let us in on the secret.

The latest Pentagon UFO project, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), merely repeats the old Air Force Project Blue Book mantra. There is no evidence that the phenomenon represents visits by alien spacecraft. Period, end of story. That story hasn’t changed in decades.

At the same time, disclosure advocates continue to demand that the Pentagon tell the truth about the presence of UAPs in our skies. The government’s renewed interest seemed a positive development for a time, though it has gone virtually nowhere.

That a few members of the U.S. House and Senate demand the truth isn’t helping. Those demands are usually buried in the crisis de jour. They never go anywhere.

If there is a compelling truth to be revealed about UAPs, the chances that it’ll be revealed in the near future — or ever — are slim to none. Unless there is some external event that forces the issue — such as a massed landing of extraterrestrial craft — why should it change?

Besides, if governments were to some day reveal one of the expected truths about UAPs — to confirm the widespread belief in ET’s presence in our skies or seas — why should they be believed?

We live in a crazy time, where perfectly decent people live in at least two different realities.

So even if the President of the United States, at this time Joseph R. Biden, confirmed the hopes of disclosure advocates, will he even be believed?

Don't’ forget that a sizable portion of the American public, 36% according to a poll from The Washington Post/University of Maryland (Post-UMD), do not believe that he is a legitimate President.

Thus, any statement he makes, regardless of how much evidence he produces to prove that statement, will be disbelieved. Even the presence of a genuine spaceship may not sway people. Many will just say it’s a special effect and nothing more.

In such an environment, how can those who lust for disclosure ever have their wish fulfilled?

Now in the old days, when UFO research pioneer Major Donald E. Keyhoe was pushing for government disclosure of UFO reality, it seemed clear such a revelation would probably be believed.

How times have changed, and not for the better. But I prefer to take the position that there are basic facts that might be interpreted in different ways, but that doesn’t alter the truth, whatever it is.

On the other hand, the current persistent polarization might indeed benefit people who are holding deep, dark secrets about UFOs and other phenomena. After all, whatever is revealed will just be disputed by large numbers of people. If there is such a conspiracy, the answers might be in plain sight, but few will believe it.

Or even care.
