Ronald Kinsella.pngRonald Kinsella is an artist, illustrator and author. He started using crayons, acrylics, oils and even airbrush, before moving on to the wonderful world of digital. He has an avid interest in UFOs and has written and illustrated numerous books, including science fiction. He has appeared on national television and also jointly hosts a paranormal radio show, ‘TWIN SOULS’ along with his identical twin brother, Philip.

In his new book "ILLUSIONS - Smoke & Mirrors of the UFO/ET/Paranormal Enigma," Ronald Kinsella questions the validity of a number of alien, UFO and cryptid reports which range from the unusual, to the very bizarre, throughout the world. This interrogation is not based on their authenticity, rather, questioning a much darker aspect to their origins and of a seemingly fragmented phenomena.

Is it just possible we have been duped by something else? Something far more sinister? Is it at all feasible to suggest that many of the ghosts, cryptids, and alien encounters, reported by hundreds of thousands of people throughout time, have been manifested by a Force that is as cunning as it is ingenious? Has it also employed its tactics through the likes of Scrying, CE-5 Initiatives, along with the Ouija Board? And is Skinwalker Ranch — a hotspot for paranormal activity — being used as its playground, knowing that interest of it has certainly arisen?

Are we looking at a thing which is as bizarre as the very cosmos itself, and of which understands us and our history to the point of disbelief?

Ronald attests that these are merely ideas, and that the reasons concluded certainly do sway strongly towards anonymous and calculated addition to planet Earth. He wagers that his own encounters, perhaps like many, have been instigated by a clever trickster, and of which selects people for a reason he contemplates within the very pages of this book.

After two postponements, we're confident this will finally happen.

Our cohost will be Tim Swartz.

Regarding the popularization of the grey alien image:

  • October 11, 1973 Pascagoula Incident: aliens are described at conical beings with three arms and robotic in nature.
  • October 20, 1975 - The UFO Incident TV movie about the Betty and Barney Hill abduction airs on television in the US. First appearance of grey aliens in UFO entertainment media.
  • November 5, 1975 - Travis Walton abduction. First appearance of grey aliens in a purported abduction.
  • November 16, 1977 - Close Encounters of the Third Kind is released. Grey aliens are shown in the background scenes at the end of the movie.
  • 1979 - The Andreasson Affair by Raymond Fowler is published, depicting an abduction by grey aliens.
  • 1981 - Missing Time by Budd Hopkins is published. Multiple accounts of abductions by grey aliens. Grey alien on cover of book.
  • 1982 - The Andreasson Affair: Phase Two by Raymond Fowler is published. More grey aliens.
  • 1987 - Communion by Whitley Strieber is published, telling the story of Strieber's explorarion of his abductions experiences with the help of Budd Hopkins. Alien depicted on the cover is not grey.
  • 1987 - Intruders by Budd Hopkins is published. Multiple accounts of abductions by grey aliens.
My point is that the grey alien archetype was introduced to UFO mythology on a particular date: October 20, 1975. The beings depicted in the movie are, as far as I can tell, an artistic inteperetation of the beings described during the Hill abduction, but not exactly what the Hills described. Exactly sixteen days later the Travis Walton abduction occurs, which for the first time involves entities of the type commonly known as greys. In the following years, this depiction of UFO occupants/abductors is reinforced by the work of Ray Folwer and Budd Hopkins. The concept was well entrenched in UFO lore by 1987, the year that Whitley Streiber's Communion was published. It's no coincidence that Budd Hopkins himself plays an important part in the book and his influence is unmistakeable.
