Health care for the global elite

I see it as a matter of not if, but when, life saving and life extending state of the art medicine becomes incredibly advanced but also financially out of reach for all but the wealthiest of earth's population. I'm trying to imagine how this might play out. How will the average person...

To all the teachers out there

I spent two years at the local community college piling up semester hours in electronics. The tech industry was hot at the time, and I supposedly had one of the highest scores on the company qualifying exam they had seen in a while. Which led management to the erroneous conclusion that I would...

One of the weirdest and most believable high strangeness vids I have ever seen. Was this west of you location, BTW ? (over remote desert )

    MacDonald's: Did you know?

Perhaps our Master Plan is to conquer the world by first giving them all diabetes and clogged arteries. Not trying to be self-righteous. Let's just say "Learn by my bad example".

    Anybody here a helicopter pilot?

vonmazur: About how much more expensive per hour is flying instruction in helicopters vs fixed wing aircraft ? Do helicopters require a little sharper skill set when compared to light fixed wing aircraft ? I'm thinking the cost difference is considerable.

    Edward Snowden on alien communication

We don't know what at least half of the mass in the universe consists of, the nature of "dark energy", or have anything remotely near an understanding of quantum entanglement. We are not even half-way to a testable hypothesis for quantum gravity. And yet most of our "experts" pronounce a...

To all the teachers out there

Congrats, Stoney ! My late wife taught middle school for some twenty odd years. I didn't catch the grade level you are teaching. But most effective principles of the student/teacher relationship always apply. It sounds cliched, but teaching really is a calling, a job that demands a deep...

    huff post article

Great thread. I think all hats are still in the ring, a reflection of how little we actually know. I do see a kind of seminal bifurcation in our imaginary flow chart of 'All Possible Hypotheses' in which we either assume certain parties in society are more informed and deeply involved...

Speaking of stale, Shostak starts with the long overworked assumption that the UFO phenomenon could only be hypothesized as nuts and bolts spacecraft visiting from outer space and operating according to our current understanding of the laws of physics, which is frankly still in its infancy...

    UFO Fundamentals?

Two general suggestions in choosing authors: -Ground your outlook in things written at or near the beginning of the "modern" age of "UFOlogy" in the mid to late forties. (Hynek, Ruppelt) Most of this material's ETH hypothesis is set in concrete. But its approach to the subject...

    What are you reading ?

Just finished Annie Jacobsen's "Area 51, And uncensored history...." There's an irony here in that minus the author's loosely integrated insertion of non-documented "fact" and opinion about Roswell and it's supposed connection to Area 51, the book is a very fine read regarding more...

    RIP Anne Strieber

Our prayers and well wishes go out to Mr. Strieber and his family. Let's hope Mr. Strieber is able and willing to continue his life long work of enriching the field of UFOlogy and the paranormal.

    Refuting the ETH: Angels/Aliens/Archetypes

I have no intrinsic problem with the notion of UFOs as sequestered technology of human origin. Its just that this "breakaway civilization" line of reasoning leads to a larger paradigm that is as almost as esoteric and fraught with "woo" as any ETH or extra dimensional model might be.

It's a real Hall Of Mirrors, isn't it? I would never suggest the Marcels could not have been used as pawns in "The Great Game". But even their being so would seem to raise the stakes of whatever the game is, by orders of magnitude. And again, I'm referring to statements made by Marcel Jr...

July 19, 2015 — Greg Bishop and Walter Bosley

I am taking Greg's term "reboot" to mean setting aside decades of accumulated baggage in the form of unsupported assumptions, fostered mostly by well-meaning group consensus and a handful of high profile true believers, and starting with what we can say with some degree of confidence about...

All true. Human hallucination is very real and probably more frequent than previously believed. But I want to look beyond garden variety hallucination and confabulation on the assumption that external phenomena, possibly intelligent, are interacting with individuals in ways that cause...

July 19, 2015 — Greg Bishop and Walter Bosley

I sense a subtle shift of emphasis on the "phenomenon" (or phenomena) away from attempts to define it as a natural or constructed device, to looking more closely at the witness/experiencer and his or her life as our primary source of evidence. The former approach in decades of searching for...

    Refuting the ETH: Angels/Aliens/Archetypes

Another eye-0pener for me was Jesse Marcel's autobiography: 'The Roswell Legacy". As mythologically tiresome as Roswell has become over the decades, I find Jesse Marcel Jr.'s story and his credibility difficult to simply dismiss. Perhaps the most jarring of Marcel's admissions can be...
