I'm sure I heard chris once talk about some enormous wriggling black snake - like 7 metres long! I may be wrong about it being Chris who spoke but I seem to remember it being on Native American land and up in the high desert somewhere. In fact, Chris brought up the fact there would not be enough food for such an animal, a bit like with Nessie.
I didn't buy that story for a second but you post made me think of it.
