This was funny. I'm hoping this movie isn't entirely driven by it's nice CGI and has an element of interest in the story line. Most of these movies don't.
What interests me the most about this movie is it's approach and marketing. The people behind it have cleverly used the already out of control belief in 2012 to drive forward this project. It's one of the simplest techniques we used in advertising - make the public sell the product for you. They end with something like "Think the Government tells you everything? Google: 2012." Their marketing dept is laughing all the way to the bank without even lifting a finger.
Now, whenever I get a nasty email from someone claiming I'm a disinfo agent. I simply highlight they're a willing pawn for a Sony Pictures and Columbia marketing ploy.
I'll be seeing this but I swear, if I overhear anyone remotely mention anything about this film being based on factual evidence, then someone will be wearing my popcorn...and possibly my Pepsi as well depending on how thirsty I am.

Might I suggest a matinee? Usually you can get a nice seat away from the unwashed masses much more easily... it's cheaper too.

Looks pretty impressive - at least the CGI part. Might be worth shelling out a few bucks to see it in IMAX.
