Amazing but weird at the same time. Using the entire volume of a spinning disk to store sequenced information. These guys should have been spending more time improving SSD (solid state drives) and building a portable infrastructure and standards for these... eliminating mechanical parts is the objective here isn't it ?

I'd rather connect an SSD slab (256 GB) to some portable device than use obsolete rotating disks that you put in a Fred Flintstone reader lol

What will replace Blu-Ray ?.... probably SSD based technology. Or even better... extreme high speed internet filling your SSD drive in a future Sony player.
