Advertisements on the Paracast

As a non-u.s.a citizen I am quite surprised about the nature of the ads on the paracast. Every second ad seems to suggest that there is some kind of impending disaster of epic proportions and people should start preparing for the worst; or the ad suggest that the government is trying to screw the listener over in some way and that they will reveal some sort of secret that the government does not want them to know.

I was wondering if the majority of the U.S. population suffers from extreme paranoia or if these ads are specifically designed for people with a interest in the paranormal, and are automatically labelled as paranoid by the advertising companies?

Well, as I've said before, we don't pick the ads. That's up to the network. We only have control of the first minute of the advertising block, and none of those ads are survivalist. The network ads, though, are typical for GCN.

Hi Gene. I was not complaining or anything, I am just genuinely interested in the nature of those ads. The whole "the world is about to end be prepared" and "The government is out to get you" type ads are completely alien to me, I've never heard anything similar until I started listening to your show. I am just trying to gain an understanding of the types of people these ads are targeting and how big this "apocalypse" culture is in the U.S.A.

While I've got your attention I would just like to mention how much I love the Paracast, its really opened my mind in a big way concerning the world of ufology, and if not for you guys I would be getting all my info from coast to coast..... I've been listening for the last 3 months I'm already through 3/4 of your archived shows. Any chance of you guys ever doing your show every weekday?

Yes, a lot of people in the U.S. don't trust the government, and that fuels business ventures to take advantage of that situation.

Weekday? Well, a network would have to give us a great offer to consider daily shows. :)
