Airline pilot forums

Just out of interest I thought I would check out some Airline pilot forums to see if anything interesting comes up with regard to unusual sightings. Of course I'm sure the majority of pilots don't want to touch the subject particularly on a public forum but there were a few interesting items I found. I know there's nothing earth shattering here but it adds a bit of extra insight when it's pilots discussing these odd sightings.

Here is a discussion of an unusual sighting from 2009 at JFK 08/16 JFK: UFO witnessed by several pilots - Airline Pilot Central Forums

Northwest UFO strike in MSP http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/major/28421-northwest-ufo-strike-msp.html

This might be connected to the other big UK sighting around this date (3rd Aug 2011) http://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=71866&p=984366&hilit=ufo#p984366

UFO over Oxford http://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=63117&p=856231&hilit=ufo#p856231

I've only checked a couple of sites but I'm sure it would be worth seeking out some more of these sites for unusual discussions.

I also read a pilot mentioning a strange stringy like substance that floats around at certain altitudes which I thought was weird but he said it very matter of fact as if it was a common occurrence.

That's fascinating stuff. Even though we all know what lousy observers those high time professional pilots are.

A YouTube link to the ATC recording of the JFK incident:

I have heard the "ultralight" explainations for things before. The things is that these guys were close enough to identify the craft. I find it fascinating that this "ultralight" completely disappeared. I will pull out the ol' runway reference in a bit and see if I can determine where they were in relation to the supposed craft.
