You may remember Alan's 2007 release, "the world without us" a look at what would happen to the planet and man's works if man had completely dissappeared. Coming up next month is"Countdown" a book at what would happen ( resouce/water shortages ) if there were too many of us.

I've seen a couple of episodes. It's the Population Bomb all over again. I found myself switching it off because after all the depressing stuff on the news that going on now, I started to get even more depressed about a future that hasn't even happened yet. If we're going to do future mass disaster scenarios, we might as well just skip to the part where the Sun turns into a red giant and Earth ends up someplace in it's upper atmosphere, and everything that anyone who ever lived has ever done is wiped out, making it all totally pointless unless we've evolved beyond the planet by then.
