Alex Jones vs. Piers Morgan on CNN.

Free episodes:

While I don't often agree with Alex Jones, this is one of those times that I kind of do. I'm not making a personal statement here, just a prediction, but if they were to try and disarm the US, all hell would most likely break loose. I do disagree with Alex's position that psychiatric drugs are the cause of gun violence and mass shootings, I think that's a vast oversimplification.

Alex comes across as a lunatic in this video, which he mostly is, challenging Piers Morgan to a boxing match and not being able to STFU for 5 seconds so there can be some form of rational debate. Still, I agree with his main point, guns don't kill people, people kill people and whether there are guns or not they will continue to do so.

I agree with him on this point entirely. The only thing that protects the people from the abuses of the government is their ability to protect themselves. If guns are taken away from innocent, law-abiding citizens, we are screwed as a nation. Let them go after illegal guns and the thugs that carry them. This government (dems or repubs) is the enemy, make no mistake about it.

Why is America so gun crazy ?We here in Europe look in amazement to the U.S and all these killings : more guns = more deaths.

American people believe that it is the right of every individual to be able to protect themselves against enemies both foreign or domestic. Yes, it is true that we have the government that have sworn to do this job, but what if that government sides with the enemy or no longer sees the protection of the people as its purpose? Having an armed population is one way to keep the ruling elites in check. Take that right away and we become slaves.

I think the biggest reality check is to consider how many shooting incidents involve actual self-defense, and how many involve family/friend disputes and other causes in the U.S. You'll find very few, overall, involve people using weapons for the purpose for which they supposedly buy them. But don't take my word on it. Look it up.

Any inanimate object can become a murder weapon. Should knives be outlawed too? If a person decides to drive his car into a group of people, should cars be outlawed?

It is the job of the U.S government to enforce the gun laws that we already have. Do not sell guns to people with criminal records. Do not sell guns to people taking psychiatric drugs. And how about start going after murderous thugs in the inner cities who obtain guns illegally.

And why would my government do that ?We (and you) are living in a democracy , so what's the problem ?Better to have this imaginary risk , then spreading guns to millions and have so many innocent deaths every year.

This guy comes accross as a raving lunatic. No shades of grey for this guy lol.

What's missing in this debate is a bit of creativity and maybe a new look at the guns that are available today against what was available when these laws were written. Some tazers today are probably more damaging that the guns made back then lol. How about establishing security zones. You distribute gun/tazers types based on the level of police protection in an area.

As an example: when you enter a high risk area: you stop at a check point, show your permit and pick up a gun/tazer that's adapted to the new security level. Every permit holder in the zone has the same gun/tazer type equipped with a GPS locator chip and ID. A gun going off triggers police intervention. Of course, if you're a deer hunter your permit allows you to get the appropriate gear... no assault rifles that is. (or semi-automatics)

In high density areas with adequate police response times you could reasonably set up 'no-gun' zones where everyone has a panic button with a guaranteed response time. If the response time goes below or above zone security standards, gun/tazer types are adjusted accordingly.

I doubt anybody would choose to live in an extreme high risk zone anyways. Even a Magpul FMG-9 couldn't protect you lol

And you don't think it's all an act?

Of course its an act. Rehearsed rethoric orchestrated to build up his ratings with sprinkles of truth nuggets to keep the listeners interested. If Piers was expecting a 2-way dialogue he got screwed big time. The guy exploited the platform offered by Piers to promote his show and his personality.

What Piers got out of this interview is a face of America that liberals usually ignore that has explosive potential if kept unchecked. The guy is on fire.

I would probably be a rich man today if I chose to become a performance artist and take on a particular point of view in search of ratings. I'm sure you realize that some of the hottest talk show hosts are playing a role strictly for the audience and the paychecks. I suppose some have come to believe their spiels over the years, of course, and the lines between fact and fiction become blurred, but at the start it was all about finding an on-air personal that was commercial.

For better or worse, what Chris and I do is real. It's us.
