"I Wish I Knew"
Check out this machine. It was built as a collaborative effort between the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa. 97% of the machines components came from John Deere Industries, farm equipment! It took a team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment, calibration and tuning before filming this video. It is slated to be donated to the Smithsonian. I just checked snopes and they say it is cgi, oh well, still pretty cool.

Yeah, it's CGI. It's from the Animusic DVD. You can see more vids from it on youtube. Amazing work, just in developing the midi-controlled animation process.
