If anyone can make it to earth from anywhere out there. (the Hubble picture below shows millions of galaxies like ours made up of billions of stars)... what would make them stick around our planet knowing that there are countless other planets to visit ?

"1" if you want fancy-shmancy high tech all your wants catered to.
"5" if you want a post-industrialized, tribal warring, planet wide polluting, resource disparity with a few having most and most having few backwoods planet, ...with a bonus: If you are captured by the earthlings you can enjoy a long imprisonment and "enhanced interrogation()"followed by a very professional dissection.

This used to be a 5 star destination before the locals started pumping organics from the ground, blowing up their best locations secluded in the oceans (... Mururoa) and actually clogging up the currents with plastic islands.
Your guess is as good as mine as to what these weirdos are up to!

Can't go camping anywhere without some locals in green suits trying to document your tech !... Used to be... some of their leaders came up to us with a delegation to venerate and pamper us with gifts. Now we get chased out by their flying pea shooters. Oh I forgot... a few years ago I was resting near one of their deserted mountain ranges and guess what !?! Some nutcase local decides to light up an artificial sun and I spend the rest of my vacation nursing a damn radiation rash !
