Imagine these scaled up 100x they could make a pathway for heavier equipment! i.e Tanks etc.

Going off topic a bit, I really miss "Robot Wars" (tv show) I wonder what kind of bots they could make with all the advancement in technology. I suspect that some of the contestants are now involved in more "serious" research and development.

Razor and Panic attack were my favourites.

I remember it too. Clarkson was in it at the beginning too. Just the battery technology alone has moved forward so much, you could probably have much more power to weight. Your memory is good, I'd never remember the names of the robots but I wasn't a huge fan. I did watch it though for the first couple of series anyway.

Imagine what they have on the Moon:D
OK...

construction in space anyone :)
When you ramp up this idea of self assembling technologies imagine the capacity of an advanced technology that can program its smaller than nano-probe assemblies that can pull materials out of the air to manufacture what they need. What kind of reality could be projected or be present for visual experience on our behalf thanks to automatic or AI devices in our atmosphere?

It reminds me of the people at the end of time in Michael Moorcock's books with their rings of power could basically manifest anything.

I saw this last week, pretty neat. It's still a couple of years away from being used for numerous day to day applications. Soon (relative) we'll have robots build colonies on Mars and the Moon before we even live there. How convenient.
