Anyone see it? James Fox and the twitchy "skeptic" was on. I liked how James handled it basically. Anyway, if anyone comes across it at youtube, can you please post it? I wanted to tape it to show others, but my vcr wouldn't work.

I have it. I will upload the feature tomorow, don't worry. I will put it with the other CNN short reports from the conference.

The only thing that I don't have is actual live broadcast from the conference at the time. I don't know how long they have broadcasted directly from the conference room.

Where's this going to be uploaded at? You have a site, here, or YouTube? Thanks.

James is good, but not great. Far better to have a guy like Nick Pope fronting the cause for the serious study of the UFO phenomenon. Still, James was leaps and bounds better than McGaha, who makes one pine for the days of Phil Klass, who at least had some style, and a better sense of fashion.

As far as the cases go, it still amazes me that no-one ever mentions the 1957 RB47 case, which is far better in terms of hard-to-refute evidence than Rendlesham or even Tehran, and has the added bonus of being American - never underestimate the importance of speaking to your own people about a case in their backyard - not that the rest of the world should be ignored - far from it - but you should always lead with a local case, especially when it just happens to be one of the best ever, and involves the creme de la creme of USAF crews.

All in all, I thought it was a pretty good segment. Fair and balanced, and it took the subject seriously. The question is whether "ufology" can build on this towards a serious study, or whether the kooks and wackos with their "54 alien races, massive government Cosmic Watergate" blah blah blah will take over.

Time will tell.

I'm just glad Greer isn't fronting it. I don't know much at all about Fox. He seemed to come out of nowhere.

I can always think of cases that are better, than what gets shown on tv.

It will be uploaded at A. J. Gevaerd's web space.
Here;

You can find there already Larry King's show that I uploaded. Check up the thread about Larry King.

I've wondered if the Maelstrom case in 1975 in which NORAD logged a visually reported UFO vacating from a missile silo and climbing to 200,000 feet and vanishing might raise a few congressional eyebrows.

1) It's easy to rule out psychological issues
2) It's easy to rule out known atmospheric effects
3) The provenance of the documents involved is not disputed
4) The phenomenon's interest in our strategic arsenal must be of concern
5) That several ICBM's suffered an undiagnosed anomaly is not disputed

Of course, everyone has their own opinions about the best cases.

Are we talking about the Larry King Live show, or did Anderson Cooper have a segment? I know Anderson was mentioned above, I thought that was a typo.

I thought the Larry King Live segment was ok, although I was really tense when Shirley McLaine showed up.

It was a reference towards Cooper's segment. It was another confrontation-debate between Fox and McGaha (similar like in Larry King) plus one new report from the conference with short interview with the Iranian pilot.

Correct.

Most of the show dealt with plastic surgery heh.

Really. I hope the segment is available somewhere online. Two topics of interest to me.

Uforadio supplied a link where it will be at above, though I doubt the plastic surgery part will be.

The segment was short, but I'm glad Fox got some airtime. Those news shows are so filled with ads and bumpers there's hardly any real story at all.

James Fox made the request on C2C and I figured I might reiterate it here:
We should email CNN to show our interest in the UFO topic.

I commented on both the Larry King and Anderson Cooper shows via the CNN site. I mentioned specifically that since Blue Book ended, ufology has been a disorganized lot of independent researchers with various aims, agendas and foregone conclusions and that James Fox is one of a handful of "conservative" researchers who don't cling strongly to any hypothesis but have accepted the existence of an unknown phenomena. I stated that these serious researchers are tired of the fringe and just want to know more about the UFO phenomenon, not promote space brotherly love.

I'm not overly optimistic, but who knows?

-todd.

The Conference was not aired I'm sure of it, I checked every major news channel over a few hour period and spent awhile looking online for an air date: nothing.

The news conference at the Press Club yesterday morning (the 12th of November)? It was carried live on CNN's web video feed. I missed the first part, but once I tuned it they carried it until the last question.

I thought it went pretty good. Governor Symington was very poised.

Dear colleagues.
I have uploaded the Anderson Cooper CNN feature about the National Press Club conference as I have promised. You can download it here;

http://www.ufo.com.br/public/larry_king/anderson%20cooper.avi

Other news clips I will upload tomorow. I am extracting the pieces from the 10 hours of LP recording.

Best regards to everyone

That one is Mac-hostile. Can you use something more cross-platform capable. Maybe a QuickTime MOV file?

"No doubt we won't finish the debate...." No doubt, Anderson. because you still have on debunkers whose only line of debate is, "Nuh-uh." This you call the equal opposite opinion of testimony and scientific investigation.
