Great show and discussion. Thanks, Chris for including my long Keel question/quotes. Meade Lane was a friend of Barker's but I think that there is evidence the letter by Lane is real, but is an account of his astral projection to witness the Eisenhower-ET encounter. So far, most states do not allow spiritually-derived testimony in court, but California and Colorado must be considering it.

Link to Meade Lane letter about the Eisenhower story:
Letter from Gerald Light to Meade Layne | April 16, 1954 | Project ETHERIA

It's great that Andy is making this rare Keel material available. I enjoyed hearing Andy's wild tales, and you guys trying to make sense of them.

Gene, I'm sure you are familiar with Gray Barker's UFO poem- do you know when it was written?

UFO is a bucket of shit
Its followers: perverts, monomaniacs, dipsomaniacs
Artists of the fast buck
True believers, objective believers, new age believers
Keyhoe believers

Shushed by the three men
Or masturbated by space men

UFO is a bucket of shit

The A.F. investigated UFOs
And issued a report
Couched in polite language
Which translated, means:

"UFO is a bucket of shit"

Meade Layne is a bucket of shit
Lex Mebane is a bucket of shit
James W. Moseley is a bucket of shit
Richard Ogden is a bucket of shit
Ray Palmer is a bucket of shit

And I sit here writing
While the shit drips down my face
In great rivulets

Dang, that's pretty serious, quite well written.

Of course I read it unfazed while shit drips down my face :D

I'm asking David Houchin curator of the Barker library about the date of the poem. David, by the way would be a great guest for a historical review show.

Getting back to the Colvin program, I'm still processing all his stories of laser battles, burned flesh and sinister forces.
I may have to keep the lights on tonight!

whenever i try downloading it, i get a "404" type error? ....the page you requested cannot be found

Speaking of listening to good stories, I think this is a pretty cool project by Colvin, an audio book of a Gray Barker classic.
There is a fair amount of Keel content in this one, and of course he's intimately connected with the MIB mythology:

Colvin on Mothman: Garuda is Trying to Tell People Something

Following the curious discussion around Mothman's attraction to the high output of infra red from Galaxie 500’s and Bigfoot's attraction to the air conditioners of trailers there was a discussion on the infamous findings that blood/DNA identity in the form of American Indigenous and/or Celtic/Irish ancestry, due to nature worship histories. This is an interesting speculation as it is very reminiscent of the overall environmental message and sentiment of the contactee movement. They both claim that we humans should be better caretakers of the natural world. Nothing wrong with that given Fukushima and other stupidities.

Anyways then shortly after, Colvin says about the personal likelihood of seeing Mothman ("a squeaking silhouette" I think was how he described his own sighting):

I’m a good candidate, and you know all of my siblings have had either seen mothman or had something similar. Both of my sisters have seen mothman and my niece. And my brother has a very strange sort of philosophy about star people which I don’t quite understand but he’s a good guy and I trust him that he’s got some connection to something going on there with something from the stars.

Those lines, like the opening foray into the old “Nazis still working on their technology” theory really make me more skpetical than convinced of much and I still think Keel is a very creative thinker, fabulist and demonologist. When we returned back to the ancestry piece we heard about Derrel Sims' research where he found a similar genetic lineage in his survey of 1,000 abductees.

Sims also says that his brother was abducted, that Aliens plant screen memories in abductees and are breeding traits out of us following what he defines Roswell as, "an Alien infiltration of the military industrial complex." He is also a proponent of hypnosis as a research tool.

Make of all this what you will, but it seems that elements in Ufology are generally settling on this “DNA connection” as the latest accepted paranormal characteristic of the narrative – that, and if your ancestors were into nature worship or abandoned Catholicism. Isn’t that most of North America right there?

This episode gets shelved under "entertaining speculation" as i totally enjoyed the "having sex with mothman, tens of thousands of bags of bark, parrots in the park, Thunderbird creation stimulation" connecting the dots. Like UFO's, Mothman is there to make us think, i guess?

BTW when Great Horned Owls screech their sound is described as "squeaky" vs. Barn Owls who sound like loud television static being turned on and off - wild isn't it?! All owls respond in a predatory manner to any nearby squeaking prey. When they fly and hunt at night their large silhouettes contort and twist in strange ways. I predict, in a nationwide survey, that people who hear squeaky sounds at night from nearby prey are more likely to see a large dark silhouette fly swiftly overhead than those who meditate themselves to death, or don't go for walks at night.

What keeps me interested in the study of strange phenomena are the numerous angles from which they can be viewed. Even through a kind of narrow-band filter that is only sociological, events still render up a colorful pageant. And it's a genuine part of history. I keep my personal filter adjusted to a much broader setting. But neither do I need saucers on the White House Lawn to maintain interest. There's just no way to disentangle these colorful characters from strange things that come knocking on our door.

Okay, I admit I miss bits by zipping past commercials. Just who had the cat cadaver?

Two important lessons to keep in mind as we fade to gray:
1) Make a legacy plan for your research materials.
2) Remember to tidy up the house and bathe now and then.

Excellent show and found John Keel was closer to this strange awareness and the concern is are we been setup for lambs for the slaughter one day ? Also Nick Redfern is the new John Keel which his work is outstanding and find his books great reading. The so called Mothman wonder if that's what appeared on our patio roof one night but it was invisible/ cloaked the foot steps were mechanical in nature . My hair stood up behind my neck and felt true fear. Also the strange humming sound prior to object ? Like Chris said many times its a trickster and found all the encounters as none friendly actions. Currently , reading Left at East Gate' by Larry Warren and Peter Robbins which the section on cloud dispersal is similar events of the little creatures (not so called greys rather dark /brown/black hooded and hologram beings are these actions done be man made technology or off world, how can it regulate temperature's to come in and out of so called dimensional ? The voice must have humanoid vocal cords or using recordings of other encounters ? The weird phone calls warning against exploring the subject.

I loved this episode. Dozens and dozens of fascinating anecdotes and points of conjecture. Thought I was listening to Timothy Good. Dick Hall's mummified cat was the pinnacle.

I also enjoyed this episode, although I do have to admit I'm probably a little too comfortable engagng in interesting speculation...as burnt state correctly labeled this episode ...I got sucked in on the jag that andy went on after Chris asked my question about the mothman telephone but speaking as one who is also interested in comparing/compiling coincidences I am probably a little more apt to pull on the reins. I've stated before my interest in this field somewhat hinged on Keel's death and the apparent connection between mothman and synchronicities and may have led to (what I thought was) a pretty cool run I experienced shortly after John's death which I posted in personal experiences. The fact that I experienced it shortly after immersing myself in John's work made me appreciate andy's observation about how contact between himself and others and John brought about a bunch of synchronicities.

The odd synchronicties is very intresting as Owls sighting prior to the sighting of UFO and Gene did you ever do any older interviews with the authors Larry Fawcett and Barry Greenwood of Clear Intent ? Also possible a back in time eposide of your researching in the 1960s and 1970s UFO field?

This show went straight to #1 for me, bumping the skinwalker ranch security informant episode to #2. I listened to it several times already. This is the first show that I have listened to in a good while where I came away absolutely inspired after first listening, and then kept picking up more and more information each time thereafter. Right after listening to it for the first time I also ordered some of MR. Colvin's latest Keelean offerings.

Man, did that guy know his Keel or what? What an interesting listen! The recommendation for the Gray Barker audio material sounds like it's in my future along with the rest of MR. Colvin's books that I don't already have.

I also have to state that most all of A. Colvin's personal reflections were genuinely refreshing and expansive. I thought that he and Chris's interplay was entertainingly articulate as well. I mean right there clicking along without the slightest lapse whatsoever like all those Mothman synchronicities they went on about. Way cool.

Do you ever notice on the Paracast how Gene and Chris gracefully trade dominant stances within the interview process based on personal knowledge levels. The one never runs the other over with enthusiastic garble or personal bias. I'm telling you Gene, you guys are selling yourselves (The ParaCast) short due to both your advanced experience/skill levels and not having some type of paid subscriber service. Maybe even a weekly video blog where you get a quality Pcast t-shirt/mugg and a years subscription for 160-180.00. Honestly, it's just due to the high level of professionalism that you and Chris bring into play in these interviews.

What I would REALLY like to see is some super smart media mogul put together a paranormal "who's who" hit squad and do an actual intelligent broad spectrum internet tv journal expose of all manner of Fortean wonder. I would love to hear directly from many of the minds that I have come to read over the years. The interplay and minor "impromptu on the spot" explorations could be quite cool.

And Gene, there was something quite humorous that I thought Andy Colvin was going to dive on as the show closed. You light heartedly mentioned to look for the guy wearing a plaid shirt with the weird face to identify yourself. I thought Colvin was going to spout: "Plaid! That's what those under cover men in black were wearing!"

Best one yet IMO Guys.
