Another BS UFO pic?

I'm not impressed by this so-called flying saucer pic, which has appeared at:
http://ufos.about.com/b/2008/05/12/ufo-photographed-over-northern-ireland.htm.

Thoughts, anyone? Looks like something small close to the camera to me, possibly even something stuck to the car's windshield.

My guess - it's the edge of a street lamp. If you could move the camera a little more to the right, you would probably see that the 'disc' is attached to an arm at the top of a lamp post...

...just my two pence :)

Yeah, a street lamp was my first thought, and I've said as much in a comment I've left at About.com. Why newspapers continue to print these silly UFO pics, beats me. I guess it sells copy.

I initially thought streetlamp but I changed my views on it, mainly as I couldn’t find a streetlamp that matched it and when you really look at it there’s not that much similarity with streetlamps from that area. I don’t doubt for a second it’s a 100% hoax as apart from the ridiculous back-story there’s a few things that didn’t strike me as right with the actual image. If it wasn’t for what appeared to be a reflection of sunlight which doesn’t fit with the rest of the image then I would say it’s something being held out of the car window with the car’s frame obscuring the hand.

But as I think the sunlight reflecting off the *UFO* looked suspect compared with the rest of the image then I was unsure as to whether it was more simply a manipulation of a couple of images and that’s the way I lean at present. I hasten to add I arrived at this temporal & flexible conclusion in less than a few minutes but I make no apologies for this as I feel any more time spent on it would ultimately be a complete waste.....

Yes I thought streetlight too, but it seems too low to be one. And the reflection on the "object" seems to indicate a relatively high sun, yet we see no sunlight in the rest of the picture. It's either been put in the photo somehow, or an object attached to or held near the frame of the car. And while this is a useful exercise, it doesn't merit massive amounts of time or thought. Hoax, move on.

I think all opinions have been echoed here. Could've just said "Yes, I agree".

I personal liked the UFO off the move "flight of the navigator". Anyway the image doesn't strike me as compelling either... I wonder if this is the only image he took of it. If i were to see something like that, even if i just had my cell phone, im sure id snap quit a few pics of it before it zipped off. I wonder what the rest of this individuals story is.

Well, I suppose the easiest thing to do would be to go to the location that the picture was taken and look at the street lamps...

You're probably the closest. Let us know how it turns out Deckard.;)
