Another Cowardly "Captain"

Free episodes:

It is unfair to convict the man before trial, do you honestly think he wanted 250 kids to die, he says he thought they were safer onboard than in the ocean, that assumption needs testing in court.
he was 70 years old and still having to work to survive, he is being scape-goated, hasnt a chance of a 'fair' trial, we have no idea whether his crew carried out his orders or panicked and abandoned him aswell, we dont know if he was on the lastboat to leave the ship or the first, infact we don KNOW anything for sure, excepting that a well maintained, and modern equipped ferry, with properly secured load, should not sink making ANY manoeuvrings at sea.

Well you ARE right about being given a chance to be heard first but if he thought it was safer to stay aboard I would ask why he chose to leave. It is plausible that there would be a scenario that he would think his passengers would be better off by staying on a flooding vessel while his directed the operations by leaving before all others, but i am suspicious that a couple of crew members were arrested as well. While it didnt specify that these crew members were officers IF they were I'd say it was pretty damning because some officers would hAVE to stay on even if the captain chose to direct operations elsewhere. It seems logical that these guys would...or should...be in radio contact to determine their collective status if they ALL felt things would be better if they all were not on the vessel especially when tbey had a ship full of frightened high school kids probably in full panic mode with not much in the way of guidance as far as authority,
But I guess I am being a little too presumptuous on the rank of the other crew members arrested.

The captain is already on record on saying he is deeply ashamed

"...Lee appeared in front of Korean media with his face hidden in a gray hoodie. "I am really sorry and deeply ashamed," he said. "I don't know what to say..."

If he actually thought he was doing the most prudent thing, he's going about it the wrong way by issuing an apology as opposed to defending himself. He himself must have known...or thought... he was doing something unethical
