Schuyler I have no idea who what why where or when.

But I've absolutely seen that photo before. Haven't you?

Here's two different sites about this "saucer"...

One is about fake saucer pictures

Another is about the Avrocar but I'm pretty sure the pictures they're using aren't completely legitimate.

I believe that was an experimental single wing lift body that the USAF produced back in the 1970's or before. From what I recall it was never meant for production, only for testing the ideas of a round/disc shaped lifting body.

I actually remember seeing that photograph in some of my grade school library books many years ago...

I call CGI, you read it here first.

I'm willing to believe it is fake, but the thing that bothers me is that this pic has been around quite awhile. Gareth has seen it before, and I think I have, too. They even made a model out of the thing. I went through nearly every single entry of planes that had the 'X' designation (hundreds of them) and it isn't there, which also tells me 'fake.' But that search did turn up some very odd looking craft, like the B-49, for example.

I am in no way an aerodynamics expert, but the actual 'saucer-shape' sure isn't perfect here in our atmosphere, not to mention the sheer visibillity. Now if it was an underwater craft, whole different matter.

wait, is this Enterprise plating ? :P
