But thats the thing. It doesn't have to. They collect all data. Period. Regardless of origin or destination. You can make a law that says Canadians are exempt from other nations collecting and spying on Canadian transmissions but that is just words.


I added this after my initial post but before your reply.  This is really the crux of the issue. There is no such thing as one country being less affected by the Patriot act as another. Regardless of your nationality, geography, or treaty the U.S. is now in possession of your data. The only way to stop this is to retool internet routing protocols to follow geopolitical boundaries. I doubt that will ever happen.
