Why NASA "Lost" the Apollo 11 tapes. Houston was in the Bible Belt, and they simply could not release them. See why:

I have a buddy that works for NASA. When this came out some mutual friends sent a little good natured jibe email. The following is his response. He makes a good point. I think that we all have had jobs where we were judged collectively by the moronic actions of the village idiot. I know stupid stuff like this frustrates the crap out of truly intelligent ones.

Yeah, yeah…tell me about it. Just keep in mind that the people in charge of keeping track of stuff like that aren’t the same engineers and scientists that make NASA as great as it is (I’m biased if you can’t tell).

This thread was meant to be a total, "Hey look at this, haha" thread. Not one bit of serious discussion about Apollo 11. Just a funny video.

It is the guys from the TV program Mythbusters. They go on to test some of the theories that the conspiracy theorist put forth. They mocked up miniature models of the craft, the moonscape and light sources to address the shadow issues. They explained the "wind and the flag" issue. They even showed that jumping at 1/6 Earth gravity in the Zero G plane was pretty close to what it looked like on the moon films.

Wait a sec, I think there may be a conspiracy after all...the filming is done on a sound stage on a Below G giant cigar shaped craft! Plenty of room to jump around and sim a whole moonscape and light angles!
