The Paracast discussion is good, but the recording quality is so distracting I can't listen for any prelonged amount of time. Are you recording in a bathroom Gene?

Tell your recording engineer to manage those early reflections better and back away from the delay bus! It doesn't sound "cool" guys...even your promos have too much 'verb on them! For the love of God!

Listen to the sound of Mysterious Universe...great recording; up close and clear. Content is a bit gay after Aaron joined, but what can you do...

Get your shit together, admin!

I don't see a problem with anyone else's post. It must be something you did. :)

As to recording quality, I think most listeners understand the constraints we're under. The co-hosts are all in separate locations, with different mic setups and different recording environments. The same is true for guests, many of whom communicate with us with a regular telephone. In addition, the content that comes into the studio is provided in a single audio stream. There is no way to separate the voices in a mixer and provide different degrees of signal correction. The best we can do is normalize the recording and add a little noise reduction in the post-production stage.

This is generally true for most talk shows that rely on guests in locations that are not under their control.

Shamca,

There is a right way and a wrong way to report an error and to bring up questions or concerns like the audio issues you described. This is the wrong way. The next time you post on this forum do so politely or I will ban you with no further warning.
