Art Bell interviews Don Ecker 2/19/01--

At risk of sounding like an ass-kisser, why the hell did they pick George Noory to replace Art instead of Don if they were aware of Don? I can't even listen to that guy. He doesn't have a tenth of the radio personality that Don does, and frankly, he and his material are just boring (and largely idiotic). I can't even listen to that show without my eyes glazing over 20 seconds into it.

I've now listened to every show Don has put up, and I think there are only about three that I didn't really enjoy, (but were still good enough to listen to) and I think the best show I've ever heard *anyone* do is the "Someone else is on the moon" episode with Vito Saccheri.

Art really knew how to run an entertaining radio show, and they replaced him with a dullard when they could have replaced him with an expert in the field of the weird with a similar if not superior radio presence. I just don't get it.

BTW: Don, if you read this, consider putting up a Paypal donation link on your site. I'd like to be able to kick you a few bucks every once in awhile in exchange for the entertainment, and I'm probably not alone. At the very least just for studio equipment upgrades, maintenance, and bandwidth.

I'm looking for a copy of that show and have been since yesterday. When I find it (if I find it) I'll post it here.

The whole lunar transient anomaly business is incredibly fascinating. I'd like to hear a new show on the subject and I bet others would too. Is there anything happening on that front now? There was the one fellow who did a lot of work on it who just up and disappeared. Any further news about him?

I would very much enjoy doing another in-depth show on lunar phenomena .. however the trick is going for new information and having some experts on that know as much or more about this than I do. You may recall about 1 /2 years back when I was on the Paracast with Gene and David and also joining in was that TV guy Kiviat who at the time I was working with to do a television special about the Moon. That ended up being total bullshit and once again the work I poured into that (all on spec or in other words ... unpaid work) was for naught. Since then Kiviat went his own way and I have had no contact at all with him. Gotta tell you, no surprise to me.

That amazing photograph I have and have never shared is still sitting right here with me. I would want to include that somehow in the show because that says more than 2 hours of me and anybody else simply talking about it. And of course that would have to be a "live" show and currently I can't do a live show. So ... we wait.

At first Noory was like the kindly uncle or older brother then he became a New Age the Sky is Falling lets do another show with political "experts" about why we are going to hell in a handbasket economically. And Buy Gold! Anyway, Don or George Knapp or Richard Serett (I'm sure I mispelled that one) or just about anybody would be better.

Oh the humanity. :-)
