they dont even have any good paranormal book selection.....i ordered a free book and of course (like they planned) forgot about it and got charged 14.95.....who would pay 14.95 for that shit?
OK, that's peculiar, since audible.com is supposed to be a pretty straight up outfit. I know they deal with Apple and iTunes too. Please write me privately with the details of the transaction and I'll look into it. Even $3.00 for a free book is $3.00 too much.I agree. I visited the site based on the Paracast promotion and was confronted with having to supply my credit card details in order to get the free book. I thought fine, since they obviously just want it in case of future orders.
Then the audiobook itself was fuzzy and no where near the quality of even the Paracasts weakest episode. After I spent my free credit on it there was a screen that clearly said "NO CHARGE".
Then I discover I was charged 3 bucks. Its not much I know, but its the fact they explicitly said it would be free with no charge.
And I wonder why Im cynical.
The real scams are those offers for free credit reports, which often come from the credit bureaus themselves.I've ran into this before. Free doesn't always mean free these days unfortunately.
Glad Gene is looking into it.

OK, I checked the offer again at the site, and if you go to the URL we mention in the ad, www.audiblepodcast.com/paracast, you can sign up for membership and are entitled to a free audio book. You may cancel within 14 days and pay nothing.Gene I dont want you to go to any trouble on my behalf. It really isnt the money its just the fact that they said it was free. Things like that really get on my nerves.
