Be more afraid, be very afraid again

Another UFO cult.
They worship an alien intelligence they believe created them and the universe. They talk of themselves as property and slaves of this entity. This non-human alien entity demanded blood sacrifices of their prime livestock until a human sacrifice sated its need for ritual killing. They worship this human sacrifice as a aspect of the alien intelligence itself and believe that it guides their actions and transforms their natures to better mirror the alien's. Scary stuff.

They just pulled random people in a mall over there, gave them 10 bucks and told them to smile, didn't they...and that's the best they can do?

My proud papa moment was when I heard my 12 year old laughing hysterically at the "if we evolved from monkeys why are their still monkeys?" She came out to tell us all about this site, pro-evolutionist that she is, and then I came here and saw the post from Nameless.

But now I'm scratching my head a little more curiously knowing that my daughter and Nameless pursue the same content online. Should I be worried?

The monkey comment is often used by creationists, but its wrong

We did not evolve from monkeys, as they claim. We share a common ancestor.

If We Evolved from Monkeys, Why are there still Monkeys? « Enquiries on Atheism

The specific error aside, the question is itself meaningless. There is nothing in evolution that states, insinuates, or infers that the entire population of a species must evolve in unison so that once the evolved animal (whatever it is) has evolved, it is all that remains.

Picture an example: a group of primates has adapted to live in the African rain-forest. A group of said primates, for whatever reason, become separated and stranded hundreds of kilometers away on the Savannah. Somehow, by some fluke of nature, they manage to eke out an existence. The former group is not subjected to any new selective (environmental) pressures; the latter group stranded in an environment to which they have not had time to adapt face new environmental pressures. Those pressures reward certain members, and their future offspring (those with beneficial mutations), with increased success in surviving and passing on those mutations. Eventually, beneficial mutations such as tallness and more upright walking (ability to spot predators from further away), tool-making (increases strength/efficiency which contributes to hunting success), and finer motor control (increases tool-making and tool-yielding ability) are adaptations that the environment selects for and rewards. After a million years, the Savannah group are taller, bigger, and possess fine motor control (and perhaps intelligence as a result). The rain-forest group, having no selection pressures out of the ordinary remain, more or the less, the same (although gene flow would be likely to change them somewhat also). The latter group can be said to have evolved form the former group, yet the former group persists.

That creationists throw these questions fatuitous statements up, just highlights how little they really understand about the real world.
Is it any wonder then that such breathtaking ignorance is compensated for by superstitious nonsense.

i dont know or even care for that matter about all the nonesense about creationists v evolutionists, you yanks are just crazy, again its all just about personal recognition and money, its show biz..

what i do know is as land mass's parted, and species became separated, they evolved differently, and quite quickly, even happens today in a small but very noticable way, when a species is introduced into an isolated new enviroment, they start to change, noticably even in just 50/100 years.

But why did they prune this guy from the list of pics ?
