There are some pretty cool concepts in there but the models are to "Bryce-ish" for me. :P

There is one video ( not sure it's haiti ) where one of these ships is flying behind a village and then flips over. That one is pretty cool—I didn't see it in the reel above.

I rather see a flying dildo, but that's just me I guess.
Shades of Flesh Gordon.

I have to say, though, that was the best UFO attack footage I saw all day.
I dabble in 3d animation, but I'm not even close to that good.

Very cool.

This is sub-par even by current video game standards never mind film quality.

The fake lens flares and the chatter noise of details in the rendering is rather embarrassing for 3D professionals.

The lighting is not very good at all.

There's tons of stuff out there for video games that are lights years ahead of this junk and can be done in real time.

Not that I'm disagreeing with you, I'm too ignorant on the subject to do so, but do you have examples you could post here? I'd like to take a look.

There's tons of photorealistic game trailers which essentially use the same software as ones used for movies so I won't bother to show those. Here are impressive examples of what is possible in Real-Time.

These are in-game Real-Time renderings involving millions of polygons with atmospheric effects, realistic shadow casting, realistic physics, water effects, depth of field, ambiant lighting effects, etc.

Of course games like Crysis are a joke in that it'll bring most PCs to their knees and gameplay wise it's not the most popular.
