We may become a threat to some buzzing crafts once we start catching them near earth.. they might retaliate and thus become threats to us. Depending on their level of advancement, we might last more than a few milliseconds lol

We are no threat to them right now. Thus they can exploit. I see it as a balance of power where we have little right now, if any at all.

You are right in saying that they are not a threat in the sense that they become one only when we have the power to retaliate and survive an attack.
