I thought this might interest some people. Too many decisions about this disaster are being made behind closed doors it seems. Those oil dispersants sound like BAD news.

I'm from Alabama and I've been to Perdido and Gulf Shores and Pensacoloa Florida. Some of the most unspoiled and beautiful places left on eart. I can't bear to ride down to the gulf right now. I keep telling myself to just go down to my mothers in Pace, Fl (outiside Pensacoloa) but I know it will just piss me off more to see the gulf in that shape. I'm heart broken for Gulf Shores, Al and for the beauty of it. The people down there are a different and hearty group. I just hope Obama will see the true mess that has been made. This make me sick.
I can understand not wanting to go and see it first hand. It's just too upsetting. People should be informed and consulted about what is really going on and how it's being dealt with - not sidelined and ignored. It's not just BP, Haliburton and others are involved and it's hard not to believe that their No 1 concern is profit and shares. Has the 'leak' even been stopped yet? I don't think so...how bad is this going to get??
Some may find this YouTube video interesting. Excuse the commercial at the very beginning of the tape. I don't have firsthand knowledge of this technology but it sounds like something the oil companies should have looked at carefully some time ago. Preventive, cutting edge technology would have constituted a mere fraction of the overall profits of BP and the other oil producers:
What is happening to the ocean and shoreline is an absolute tragedy. However, as a vegan, I also have to note the damage done to the environment -- as well as all the pain and suffering inflicted on other sentient beings -- by the cattle, pork, chicken and other meat and dairy industries in the U.S. and globally. I am not proselytizing, but this is something each of us can control.
