o.k. so i know that summer is outdoor concert season here in the northern hempisphere, and we have had some wicked strange weather this year...apparently it's going to be a heckuva hurricane season...but what's with all the collapsing stages in inclement weather? did the local trades suddenly lose the art of proper rigging? Is it just a matter of this always had been an issue and with the advent of social media everyone being aware when these events happen? did the local winds suddenly pick up a few knots overall the past few months? I guess it's time to reread loren coleman's "the copycat effect"

The problem is the portable stages. Permanent structures seem to be built for these kind of things but the portable ones are very light because they fold up into a trailer for hauling buy the trucking companies. The thing to keep in mind is the Weather Channel had been broadcasting (along with the NWS) warnings that severe weather was heading for Indiana since the a.m. hours. The same thing happened to Cheap Trick this year and Yes last year. Thank the Lord that there were no injuries or fatalities in those incidents.
