Canaima UFO photo:the letter

~Trout Mask Replica~
I looked through my old copy of 'UFOs ARE REAL - HERE'S THE PROOF',and found the firsthand report on the Canaima,Venezuela UFO photos. It comes in the form of a letter sent too Ed Walters from the photographer Ray Harcort,of Long Island,New York.
I found it ironic that the witness turned out to be from New York, given David Biedny's great fascination with the case.Maybe we can track him down and get him to appear on the show?

Here's the letter-

I'm a retired Coast Guard officer and I've paid my dues.My children are grown and my wife has passed. Now what I do is travel and I thought I'd seen it all until that morning near Angel Falls in Venezuela...
After some problems I had managed to reach Campamento,Ucaima, just above the Hacha Falls,a two hour hike from Canaima where most of the tourists stay. The boat trips to Angel Falls were closed for the season so I hired a local guide named Kivo.It was a three day hike but I loved every second, even the rain.
...The second night on our return we camped overlooking a small river valley and,in the morning, clouds were level with us from one mountain to the other.I stirred the camp fire and went around a clump of trees to take care of some morning business.
That's when I saw the "water tower" sticking above the clouds.I looked at it as mother nature called.I was really puzzled, and down deep I knew it couldn't be a water tower nor could it be what it looked like it was,a frigen UFO.
...While I got my camera the UFO started to glow, orange, and lifted off the clouds to about where you see it in the enclosed photograph.A beam of orange light came out of the bottom,I shot the photo, and the UFO flashed away...
May I burn in Hell forever if everything I've told you isn't true.

It's not unusual for UFOs to be photographed by tourists, particularly in previous decades, simply because tourists carried their cameras around all the time.

E.g. I've been doing some work on UFOs in German-speaking countries (since I happen to speak the language) and some of interesting multiple photo cases were taken while in vacation (e.g. Nagora 1971 or Comiso 1987).
