Cape Girardeau saucer crash

Free episodes:

Interesting. I have read about crashes before 47 but I don't think I've heard of it. Doesn't seem to be much to back it up though besides the testimony of two people. If it was the first UFO recovered by the US military that's sad.

I don't get it. The preacher was called out to pray over these apparent aliens?? Why would a preacher be called in for such a thing?? Doens't make sense to me.

And it bothers me that the story is second hand from a woman who was dying of cancer on her deathbed. When my grandfather was dying of cancer on his deathbed, he said he saw Disney characters coming into his room through the walls. These deathbed confessions are troubling to count as valid for the very reason that rationality is being quickly degraded as a person is dying. Who knows what type of mental state a person is in at such a time. I know I shouldn't be so quick to dismiss, but I'm not sure what we can learn from a story like this.

Southerners tended to be pretty religious. Maybe they'd call a preacher for any fatality.

Well in this case there was a lot of detail, much of similar to what was claimed elsewhere. If there was a problem, I don't think it was senility.

There are other reports, although they suffer from the same problems that plague the Roswell incident: the people that are supposed to have made them are dead.
A bit of searching will also turn up some some obviously faked photos that are alleged to document the crash, which unfortunately seems to be standard operating procedure.
At least with the Girardeau incident, the witnesses were clear and their testimony didn't wildly vary as they have done with the Roswell-Aztec-Corona mess. At this late date, no one is even sure how many alien craft were supposed to have crashed, or where they even came down.
Until someone actually offers physical evidence from one of these supposed alien wrecks that exhibit some sort of extremely odd characteristics, like a corpse or an example of clearly unearthly technology, I don't believe there is much to be learned from extraterrestrial smashup accounts, except that the government will lie about everything at every opportunity, even when it isn't necessary.
