Take note that the title DOES NOT say "Cassini Spots Spacecraft in Saturn's Rings" :p

But you can't say the photo isn't interesting all the same. Imagine a 25-mile long cigar-shaped craft hanging out in the rings of Saturn. At the very least it's a photo in the UFO Forum that we know for sure is not shopped for a change :)

I don't get it.

The article itself said that the 25-mile long black part is the shadow. So it is not a cigar shaped craft. It is a solid object casting a shadow. A moonlet.

Interesting...possibly just a small asteroid seeking the surface?

Would be nice to know if there's a series of photos of this object so we can extrapolate it's trajectory. Not that I expect anything other than a decaying orbit.

I see nothing intriguing here, either. Just a moonlet, likely a big chunk of ice, made of the same stuff as the rings.

The only people that would see something intriguing with this photo have a surname either Webre, Salla, or related. This is exactly the type of bullshit they blow their load over - and its exactly the thing that makes the UFO community look stupid.

Regardless, knowing that it is a moonlet or whatnot, it is a really cool picture.

I've been loving the shots cassini has been getting over the last year, really cool stuff.

I thought my OP made it clear that I just thought it was a neat photo, nothing more. Relax guys, sheesh.

Some of you have spent too much time over at ATS I see! ::)
