Cat Member at Disneyland Arrested for... Dry Ice "Bombing"

Free episodes:

he is actually lucky. there have been some cases where people who run afoul of the magic kingdom disappear in the bowels of snow whites's castle. I think that's how they get their supply of elves, case in point the mystery surrounding one James "Dopey " Morgan.

I was wondering what a cat member is :)
Ah well, I guess it's not really a good time for not very tasteful practical jokes (or whatever that was supposed to be) nowadays. Maybe there won't be a good time for that ever again.

What do you mean? It's always the purrrrrrrr-fect time for tasteless jokes. ;)

Who would have known that a place so whimsical could be so evil? Man do I feel bad for this guy. I guess it just goes to show (not that it wasn't already painfully obvious) the more money you make, the more power you can wield. Common sense and ethics be damned!

Ya it sucks when you realize you've made a typo in the title. I heard the story and though OMG they've got to be kidding ... dry ice? It just dissipates into a relatively harmless gas that puts out fires. On the other hand, as a prank it was really irresponsible because such a thing could conceivably cause a panic and get people killed by accident. If you want to blow up pop bottles with dry ice then go play with them in your own backyard, not at a crowded exhibition where it's obviously an intentional act to stir a reaction ... and he sure got a reaction from the judge ... what did he really expect? What worries me is whether or not this is a sign of worse things to come.

Dry Ice "bombs" are very explosive and fairly harmless. I have made several in the past. We used dry ice to freeze 1" water lines for valve replacement without shutting the water off. While we wait for the line to freeze we would pack a bunch of dry ice into a plastic liter bottle with some water, put the cap on then bury it in the dirt. It gives a heck of a blast and scares the crap outta anyone in the hole.

I totally agree it was very irresponsible and the guy was an idiot for doing it. But it just seemed like the reaction was a bit overkill. I think it was the $1 million bail that made me kinda go . I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens with this kid. What's sad is that jail can change a person. And if he has to spend seven years (or even a few years) there it could have a negative impact on his otherwise normal, healthy life for a stupid prank that didn't hurt anyone.

That sounds like fun, but fun that I'm sure would get me in trouble around here. :p

After reading the title I was imagining a story some fringe extremist in a Disney cat suit of some sort trying to blow up children. Guess I'm relieved that it's something a bit less sinister.
