Two different incidents. The first was probably a standard 50 caliber like an M40 or M500. The weapon wasn't mentioned. The second took out another active sniper who was shooting at troops.
 
not to denigrate the shot and its importance to our guys over there, but the wires posting his name and such online where any sympathizer can suss him out? c'mon.
 
Good point. You never hear a SEAL's name mentioned in a similar incident, but I remember in the Canadian's case he was interviewed on TV. They gave his current place of work--he's now a cop--and talked extensively of the demise of his unit.
