Could a TV Network Be Working With The CIA?
Robert Hastings Speaks Out:

[Robert] Hastings speaks out: Could a TV network be working with the CIA? While the American viewing audience is talked down to with shows like "Chasing UFOs," apparently UFO documentary-making is hitting an all-time low, according to UFO-Nukes expert Robert Hastings [author of UFOs and Nukes] in an editorial released August 21, 2012.

Commenting on a National Geographic network documentary where skeptic Robert Sheaffer goes after UFO reports, Hastings comments, "At what point does the systematic presentation of half-truths and outright falsehoods about the UFO phenomenon cross the line from incompetent scholarship to intentional disinformation?"
Hastings even wonders if the network might be working with the CIA.

USAF Col. Charles Holt was interviewed as part of "Secret History of UFOs," and feels that the show did not accurately report his involvement with the now famous Rendlesham Forest incidents of December 1980. "I gave them many more details to substantiate the [reality of a UFO] event," Halt said. "They ignored all of this and instead focused on several questionable skeptics.” Rest of the Article HERE at UFO Chronicles:

Brilliant minds think alike. I had just written about this on the Chasing UFOs thread.

I don't know enough about Robert Hastings to determine what credibility he has within this field. I admit it never would have occurred to me to wonder if the CIA was working with NatGeo as I simply thought the station was selling it's soul for ratings. I'd love to know what others think of Hastings and if they believe this theory has any basis in reality.

This sounds like typical coverage and reminds us of the Robertson Panel recommendations:

"Of particular interest is the panel's debunking strategy. It was suggested that case studies should be presented for the purpose of baiting viewers with an interesting UFO story only to deflate them by revealing a mundane explanation. Radio, television and film studios, among them the Disney Corporation, were suggested as a means to implement this strategy. Additionally, no unexplained cases were to be used in the debunking program, particularly those that suggested any element of hostility by the UFOs."
