Chris O'Brien Interview: CREEPY Story

I don't mean Chris is creepy, but I'm about halfway through an interview he did with Mike Clelland in December, '09. There's the shower in the greenhouse story that made my flesh cringe, but it's also a hoot the way Chris tells it. I've found the best way to access Mike's shows is through podbean. A list of his shows and this interview with Chris (scroll down) is at http://hiddenexperience.podbean.com/2010/10/ Chris mentions that he can't blame licking toads as the reason for his experience, but I know he was referring to that southwest DMT toad. And, by the way, I just finished reading Rick Strassman MD's book DMT, The Spirit Molecule. His studies of DMT were very rigorously controlled in a hospital setting and he had to go through all sorts of protocols and approvals for his studies at the University of New Mexico. A riveting read indeed. Perhaps he could be a guest on The Paracast. Kim

On the subject of dmt, I dont see a point to drugs anymore I belive one can get a natural high and expreince these "things" naturally, I'm 22 btw just so ya'll know

Chris is creepy, have no doubt about it. (Avatars, man!) ;P
I liked Mike, or rather his appearance, somewhat, but does everyone on the net have a pod-cast these days ?

Yes, that's helicopter experience, very weird, too, and intriguing. I'm talking about a story further in the interview. That was a flesh crawler to me, especially with its setting. And, about Rick Strassman and DMT, I agree with the use of drugs reply. But the DMT studies were really something, and Dr. Strassman does see something different with DMT, molecularly (is that a word?) and in its effects and duration. For me personally, the only way I'd try DMT is with the conditions of his study. I'm too cautious and fearful on every level (safety, legal, and on and on). Evidently, DMT is ubiquitous in living things, and his description of how it's produced naturally in our bodies and his detail about the pineal gland, cereospinal fluid, etc., is really interesting stuff.

As a teacher, I feel compelled to point out that I meant cerebrospinal fluid! And to make this post more than a mea culpa, Dr. Strassman's narrative about the blood/brain barrier and other neurological details is just fascinating in DMT, The Spirit Molecule.
