See, there you go again. It's not always a black and white thing. In fact, it almost never is. Once you get past the "all that's not fer us is agin us" mentality, you will begin to appreciate nuanced views. Some people are capable of learning things that are even quite subtle. I TOTALLY disagreed with the troll. I totally disagree with thread nazis closing a thread the way Angelo did.

Not counting obvious SPAM, I can't think of any threads I've closed for a reason I could not justify.

In this case, I stand by my decision. If I was a true thread nazi I would close this thread, but I welcome any constructive criticism.

No thanks, I like this forum. I have been here a long time. I was the 3rd member to join, right behind Gene and David.

I understand the need for moderators, I am a mod on two forums. Moderators are supposed to MODERATE threads, not eliminate them.

Oh good grief. Perhaps you should invite the poor fellow to one of your two forums (which are what b.t.w.) to engage in intelligent discussion about it.

The "Driver shot Kennedy" thing is just absolute horse shit and has been dealt with in the forum in the past. Maybe the guy needs instruction in how to use the search function.

And like I said in the closed thread, it is a theory whose pedigree (Lars Hansson, Bill Cooper) and debunking SHOULD BE well known to anyone who has had an interest in the Kennedy assassination for more than a few months!

Endless threads about every bullshit topic in the world can be found at places like godlikeprodutions, ATS, and others if that is the kind of thing you're looking for.

I did not agree with his "driver shot kennedy" theory but I will still listen to what he has to say. If people do not like certain threads or posters there are some very simple ways to avoid them.
1. Do not read posts from people or topics you do not care for. (duh)
2. um... well... that should about do it. If you do not understand number 1, then maybe you should not be on a forum.

Some people here have a difficult time understanding this concept. I am not sure why. I could care less about "trickster" stuff, so I rarely read threads about it. So... trainedobserver if you need extra help on understanding how NOT to read something I would be willing to tutor you in this area. Please PM me and we can get started right away.

Point taken. I usually avoid certain threads and certain posters. Sometimes though ...

Like I said Pix ,if you want endless threads about every manner of bullshit under the sun there are places for that. Thankfully the paracast forums aren't that way and the spammers, trolls, and whatnot don't clutter the place up that much.

So did you invite the lad over to one of your two forums? I hope so.

The two forums I moderate are local forums dealing with local issues. He would be welcome but I doubt anyone would care to discuss the "driver shot kennedy" subject with him.

We have a conspiracy topic here. That would indicate to me that conspiracy discussions are allowed. They may need to be relocated to the proper thread topic once in awhile but THAT is what moderators are supposed to do.... NOT just up and close a thread like db or kimball would do.

Dear pixelsmith please remember that
(1) it was not your thread.
(2) you use the forums for free.
(3) the community is more important than the individual.

To put it another way, what the "house" says goes, you are a guest and should conduct yourself accordingly.
I recall from previous threads and topics that "Angelo" has shown you lenience.
I personally am glad you use this forum, while I dont generally agree with your views I respect that you have made me rethink ideas and assumptions on several occasions. (usually making me more ardent about what I initially thought).
You could have just started a poll about reopening the thread or tried via personal message to a mod.
Finally I forgive you for comparing a person closing a thread on an internet forum to a Nazi, as I cant believe it was concieved of anything other than ignorance.

I think it would be a better use of your time and the forums to take this up with Gene Steinburg directly. Also, I think you could do better than to continue to throw around the word Nazi to describe people you don't agree with.

I would have deleted the thread and banned the moron who started it if this were my forum. Which means nothing as it is not my forum. Most people figure stuff like this out when they are twelve or thirteen. The thick headed ones take till sixteen sometimes.
