CNN UFO report 11/24/2008

Free episodes:

There was a short report on Roswell on CNN this morning. Miles O'Brien was pretty even handed but Kiran Chetry was smirking about how there was no physical evidence.

Is this the same Kiran Chetry who used to be with Faux News? The same babe who was so far up Bush's backside with talk of WMD and a Bin Laden hiding in every shadow that she should have been wearing a scuba tank?
Yes, that's her. Sadly, the public has a short memory. Not that any broadcast news is any good, but there should be a rule that once someone gets a check from Fox, they never work for a "straight" operation again.

Part trois (and getting worse):

People like Carol Costello drive me insane- "How do they KNOW they weren't asleep?" I dunno, maybe because they were AWAKE, during the DAY? And it's not like O'Brien couldn't have SAID that either and put her in her place but he didn't! Stupid bitch. How much you wanna bet she covers religion-related stories with the utmost seriousness?

I actually know one of the guys producing this and he says he has seen something himself. Hopefully it helps him continue to treat this seriously.

Interesting. You know, in the news piece, the narrator said that the Pilots who saw things were told to 'keep their mouths shut'

Well: I believe that. I believe that they (the government) wouldn't want it to get out. And those that believed in their government DID keep their mouths shut if they wanted to keep their jobs, their reputation, etc!.

Here's the tell.

Whenever they open up a segment with the X-files Theme, or... Mention the X-files, it is meant to send the message to the viewer that what they see is entirely fictional.

If they were to show it without the musical cues, and omit any and all fictional references, it would be consistent with information, not infotainment.

What bothers me every time I see something like this, and the lead in features the X-files theme, is that even if you had aliens on the white house lawn, your mind would tell you that you were watching something imagined, and not documented reality.

It's a Psy-Op.

There is a SERIOUS agenda to keep the UFO / ET phenomena in the realm of fiction. If the people were to find out that the government couldn't protect them from aliens, or that their God, and organized religion couldn't save them, these institutions would be brought under intense scrutiny, and likely the people would find them irrelevant.

They would lose their power over the people, and the masses that live on this planet might live for something other than to serve a false god, or a government that treats them like slaves.

10,000 years ago, the people of this planet talked about angels, demons, and of course visitors from the stars like it was commonplace. Makes you wonder why it's now treated as complete fiction doesn't it?

I agree with you completely

Today was the fourth episode and whats her name I dont even care her name was giggling and making snide facial experessions. I bet she basically believes we are alone in the Universe kind of like Palin does. The Church she goes to would not let her in if she did not say GOD created us on Earth and we are alone.

I wish they wouldn't play the bloody X-Files theme every time somebody does a report on UFOs. I mean, I'm glad to see Mark Snow get residuals every time that happens--he'd better be--but, if they want the ratings boost that UFOs give EVERY TIME they do a show on it, then they ought to take it seriously and not be so damn apologist for it.

You're right, she's a total bitch. Journalism school is now only for the very, very goodlooking. (Zoolander reference).

Every time they use the X-files theme, it sends the message to whomever is viewing any program on this topic, that it's not real. The X-files was a TV show, not real so therefore the phenomenon in their mind is also not real.

I personally believe that anytime they do a segment on UFO's or Alien abduction there should be NO psychological cues or referenced musical cues for the mind to latch on to.

So very typical. But does this surprise anyone?

These are the same people who are paid to tell you that the sky is blue one day, and falling the next. Carol Costello is the kind of shrill, fake robot that would have been happy to suck on Bernie Madoff's toes while telling you what a good person he is, and you can be sure as shit that she bows in front of her god, praying for forgiveness and money and a guy to love her. She'll do and say whatever she has to in order to afford the Botox shots to her ass, and that X-files music is designed to let you know that what you're about to hear is fake, as Tommy pointed out. Larry King's show does the exact same thing, it's all designed to marginalize the whole topic. And whoa to us who think that something is really, actually going on. Of course, on the other side of the fence, we have to deal with the kinds of people who listen to C2C, so it's all shit no matter which way you turn.

It would be nice if in this reality, the people who think that putting the X-files theme in front of any serious UFO discussion, would all of a sudden get a punch to the crotch from out of nowhere.

Hey David, what about us folks who listen to C2C and The Paracast? I try to seperate the wheat from the chaff and I admit with C2C ya really have to seperate. There are many good podcast out there so I guess I have to admit ya got me thinking. I should say re-thinking why I should still be a streamlink member. The Black Vault and others along with The Paracast give the same and better content without the "cost."

I totally understand that C2C primarily caters to folks who are up all night, and have little else to turn to for entertainment. That said, there is plenty of stuff out there - like our show - that offers a decent alternative to the drivel normally spewed on C2C (I say this having listened to a handful of complete episodes, but I'll admit that I actually sleep at night, and don't really want to hear Noory ask the same questions over and over, showing his almost complete lack of any meaningful knowledge in the paranormal realm). And then there's music, which for me, will always be preferable to talk radio. But to each their own, as they say. Thanks for listening to our show!

Thanks for doing your show. I actually listen to podcast on my MP3 player while I walk during my lunch break at work. I never stay up all night to listen to a radio show.
