Thanks for bringing this up TC,

I have often pondered this, and think you are probably right about inspiration being a conglomeration of previously heard musical phrases or sounds heard elsewhere that get jumbled up in our minds.

Ultimately ending up on a sort of musical artists palette to then be utilised for whatever picture we choose to create.

Having said that I love those happy accidents that occur on occasion,

that often make a piece seemingly unique and special.

Knowing the close relationship music has to math. I would guess there would be some sort of connection to the numbers behind things like fractals and the "Mandlebrot set" that contribute to what we call creative

thinking. Though the logic and perfect architecture behind things like music theory, dont necessarily have to be intellectually understood by those practicing it.

I have been thinking a lot lately about the condition known as "Synesthesia". Where ones senses get mixed up and sufferers can taste colours, see sounds and so on and I suspect we all have this capacity to varying degrees.

When it comes to writing music or painting or any other creative pursuit, it seems to me that this might play quite a large part in that process.

Like you TC I hope I am being concise here.

Thanks,

Mark
