Colin Powell on Disclosure

Sanity is a default
I just had the horrible misfortune of watching a "documentary" on the UFO/Abduction phenomenon entitled ALIENS: The Complete Truth (released in 2000 by Madacy Entertainment Group). Essentially it turned out to be an unabashed tub-thump for Whitley Strieber, who appears on camera disastrously near to becoming unglued. Anyway, one of the many unsubstantiated claims he made involved Colin Powell making a statement in lieu of his dropping out of contention for a potential presidential candidacy bid that "the next president will have to contend with the UFO issue." Not that I took anything said by Strieber seriously, nonetheless I wondered if this purported utterance has even a sliver of credence to it. Do any of you have any backstory on this issue? Or should I chalk this up to Strieber's whistling in the wind?

I guess we're on our third Presidency so either Whitley or Colin Powell seems to be wrong and I'd point the finger in Whitley's direction! :)

A lot of stuff by Madacy Entertainment is garbage. When I worked in a music store, most of our returns were on their stuff. You probably picked it up cheap in a bargain bin, right? Ugh, just hearing that name again is bringing back bad memories...

Your fear of their "stuff" is well founded. Scarily enough, I took it out on loan from the library.

Very much doubt it. I can't see any President now having to seriously "contend with the UFO issue."
