Commodore 64 on your mobile phone

Finally, a Commodore 64 application has been approved for a very popular branded mobile phone. Yay!

So I've gone and dusted off my C64 and Vic20.

This was very interesting. 25th Anniversary of the C64.

I like the "finally" ... as if millions of people have been wishing someone would make a C64 utility for their mobile phone ... hehe :D.

Still its an amazing world where you can play really terrible old games on emulations of pretty terrible old computers on your mobile phone ... a technology more powerful than supercomputers of yesteryear.

Its a great fun sort of perversion getting an ancient computer systern working on your new fangled quad-core-terrabyte-hard-drive-gigabyte-ram desktop or laptop computer. A strangely human thing ... which (sometimes) gives me hope for the human race. :D

There's an app for that, but Apple pulled the plug on it after a few folks hacked it to get to BASIC, so no, you don't have a C-64 for the iPhone.

What? What? WHAT??? *Shakes fists in the air* Seems as though that issue is resolved. I got it immediately when it was released so I'll update when it's approved.

Anyway, I'm amazed at how well built the C64 was. Looking back at them now, they really do stand the test of time hardware-wise. Might have to fire up my Amiga tonight because the games I remembered having the best sound and graphics were a little....squarish. Still, they're fun to fire up and play. Even my action replays carts work. Haven't bothered with the datacassette though. I just won't go there.

Lucky you got it. Can Apple turn it off remotely? (Don't know myself.) I almost got a Commodore PET when it came out. Just saw one in the Royal Museum in Victoria, BC. Just brought a grin to my face.

I'm still using it. Haven't synced since so I'm not going to tempt fate. I assume if I try to purchase any C64 titles that I'll run into trouble.
