Charles K. Kao, 75, was cited for discovering how to transmit light signals over long distances through glass fibers as thin as a human hair. His 1966 breakthrough led to the creation of modern fiber-optic communication networks that carry voice, video and high-speed Internet data around the world.

Kao solved the problem of transmitting through miles of glass without having the glass itself absorb the signal. Corning Glass Works built on his ideas to create the first fibers that could be used for large-scale long-distance communications, making today’s Internet possible.

Which came first Corso or Kao ? :D

Throughout the 1960s, these companies were responsible for a number of so-called 'miracle breakthroughs', and nearly all the objects that Corso saw and read about were in the documents or crates he examined that day in 1961.
Fibre optics, integrated circuit chips, night-vision goggles, lasers and supertenacity fibres became commonplace. Corso claims that anyone who has used a CD palyer, a modern computer or made a transatlantic phone call has come into contact with alien technology.

Why is so dificcult to some people accept that humans can achieve good things? With hard works and research. Everything from the Pyramids to Disneyland, was built by aliens, come on.

In my mind it is pretty well established that Corso was lying about his UFO revelations for God knows whatever reason (He had a pretty good military career and I don't know why he'd want to suddenly ruin his reputation with a silly hoax but that appears to be exactly what he did.) so lets give Kao his fair due.

Perhaps Kao was given a 'Corso sample' by Corning Glass with a note saying:

We got this glass fiber from a Russian spy... could you look into its properties and duplicate them ?

It would be awesome to have Mr. Kao on the show debunk this once and for all and put the Corso claims to rest  ... and give an oversight of the evolution of optics, communications in the 40's, 50's and 60's.
