Could you live with a ghost?

My question is: would it bother you living with a ghost? Especially if the entity is apparantly not negative, but harmless, would it still bother you?
Could you relax in a home where you feel you are being observed or that you're never alone?

Perhaps - and even more interestingly - you already feel you live in a haunted house. Do you? Does it bother you?

On another point - if there are such things as spirits, then surely with the hundreds of millions souls that have died, we must be surrounded by them all the time. In that case, are we ever alone?

i did live with a "ghost". my family would see this thing once in awhile in our basement. it was a human form mid 20s man that would simply look over at whoever saw it and then dissipate. we saw this thing on occasion for about 3 years in a row, but it finally disappeared for good. my dad still lives in that house. it is odd that i dont really believe in ghosts even tho i saw this one at least 6 times.

I have seen some things in my time that I just kind of cataloged and went on my way. I don't know if it's something in the human brain or the human psyche. But, for some reason we tend to pick and choose and maybe that's a defense mechanism that helps us cope with this existence. I know that when I have seen religious people have to deal with something that contradicts their faith. There is a lot of mental judo that goes on. Same for some who are materilist. I know a very intelligent person with a Doctorate who when confronted with a "woo woo" moment just filed it away. So, even if you have a paranormal expereince you will incorporate it pro or con into your worldview. Just my two cents. Oh, and as far as living with a ghost? That would depend on who it was. 8)

As long as it doesn´t watch me masturbate,.. :p

Nah, but to be honest the last point you made is actually what makes me not believe in ghosts,
Over the time we humans have been wandering this planet, dying left and right, night and day, the world would be insanely overpopulated with them.

I have never seen a ghost, and I don't believe that they are spirits of the dead, but people that have seen them have seen something. My guess though is that it's a hallucination of some kind, which are common in all people from time to time. When multiple people see the same thing though, I have no idea what to think.

when it comes up in a conversation i say i do not believe in ghosts even tho my whole family of 4 saw the same exact thing at different times.

That is fascinating and creepy as all hell. What do you think the apparition was then? I really appreciate the fact that you experienced something like that but haven't adopted the common explanation that it must be the spirit of a dead person.

Could I live with a ghost?
It depends on whose ghost it was and their willingness to get along. The ghost of a beautiful double jointed nymphomaniac that likes to clean house wouldn't be that hard to tolerate I imagine. [You sick bastard.] Who said that?

I could live with having a ghost in my house. If I lived alone with it I would be creeped out by never knowing when it might materialize. I don't think it would be much different then having a living friend who sneaks in to your house on occasion to play tricks on you though. Either way there is the thrill factor after the event that I could appreciate because I enjoy a good adrenalin rush :)

I don't believe in ghosts but I do believe in a possible residual energy. I theorize that brains, human or otherwise, are able to process so much information because they store and retrieve data at the quantum level. This could explain why we still don't understand how the brain works and how such a small organ can accomplish what it does. When the brain dies perhaps it can leave behind a residual pattern at the quantum level. We know that information is never lost so it is conceivable that some thing or event could make it appear to us. In a multiverse where it seems that everything that can be will exist at some point in space time in at least one dimension and universe, if these residuals are possible then they must exist . Perhaps we don't see a "ghost" for every person who ever existed because every version of a person in all universes share the same quantum energy and it can only interact with one universe after death. I don't know if this theory exist elsewhere (in this universe and on this planet) but I would be interested in any links on this subject.

The fact that no one has repeatedly documented such residual through any scientific method means to me that they either don't exist or they exist at this quantum level where we unable to detect them at this time. I would like to know which is true so I say bring on the ghost!

Regards to all,
Gary
