Creepy Lying Robot, or soundboard ?

These guys at Time magazine kept calling a nice Artificial Intelligence telemarketing "lady". They tried to trick "her" by asking questions like "What vegetable is tomato soup made from?"

What say you? Is this a creepy A.I. lying robot, or an Indian at a soundboard?
