Culture of Aliens?

Based on the available case evidence, can you reconstruct a picture of the culture of the alien society (or societies)?

Granted: We may be talking about several civilizations; and, perhaps, our "evidence" is only what they decided to reveal.

Still, as an example, many people claim they demonstrate a "hive" mentality. This is definitely a cultural characteristic. The Hill case -- if true -- shows the leader deferring to his crew (which may demonstrate a sort of political process)...

Can you cite other examples that might be helpful in -- pardon this -- "reverse-engineering" their society?

it's a slippery slope, but I like the idea of this exercise :)

Since they seem to be doing all kinds of experiments, and seem to be technologically advanced (arguably), perhaps their society is one that values science and exploration.

Most appear to be inquizitive and very much interested in humans as a species. Despite us shooting at them either in the air or on the ground, they still keep coming back, so I would say that they are very persistant and consider us worth the risk.

I tend to think of it this way:

Life starts out in diversity, but as it evolves, it more and more realizes the interconnection of everything, and thus its uniqueness fades away in that process, because it more and more is becoming aware that it is a part of everything else, so what what is left is that which we all have in common: we are spirits. And therefore, the more advanced life is, the less the difference between he higher self between lives, and the current lifetime.
So if one were to find out how a more advanced being thinks, he would have to throw out everything that makes him human, and find that which is of the spirit, which is universal, indistinguishable from that alien or anything else in the universe.
That being said, I think they live their lifetimes in a more planned manner, while we, when we are born are clueless, afraid, confused etc. We have no clue what is our mission, we have to figure it out, but even so our memory is lost of all our experience before that life.
I think most of these beings, when they enter physical life are aware of their previous life, and the reason they were born here and now, and the job they came to do. They don't need religion, or teachings to tell them that, they simply remember. It is even common that beings state that they know who the abducted person is that they have worked with them in other lives. They remember us (some of us were with them) but, we don't remember anything when we get born as humans.
And I'm NOT talking about Meier, I don't believe a word of that case.

They, the occupants (whatever they are), are curious. Would we be any differnt if we found a a way to observe a civilization seemingly eons less advanced than we? Ive see guys chum water and swim with sharks in the name of science. That seems all "Nice Happy Space Brothers" kind of stuff.

But, I also know that being confronted with a percieved/possible threat, we would want a threat analysis conducted. The more that threat evolved, the more observation and analysis it would require. From a defense/military mind the case could be made that a comprehensive threat analysis operation has been underway in conjunction with academic persuits.

As an example, think of the TV program Stargate Atlantis. Mostly scientists with reinforced military types to assess threats, collect relevent intelligence, and provide security. Logical and efficient.

Any scuffle would result in a sort of after action analysis and new tactics and proocedures or technologies would be put in place to reduce the threats risk factor.

I am of the mind that the Betty and Barney Hill case lends credence to this. They beings were uniformed and showed hierarchy. Yet, the "leader" was differnt in both appearance and presence. (going off the book and lectures by Kathleen Marden here) Maybe the "Leader" was more of the scientist and since there was no threat, the military types differed.

These were my thoughts as I read this post. Who knows? One is as good as the other.

Your comments remind me of something someone said about all these abduction cases. (I don't know, it may have been on The Paracast.) Like why would "they" need to do all these examinations. Surely humans as a species aren't that complex. A few abductions and, conceivably, they would have all the information they needed.

So, this makes me think of a few possibilities (again, from the cultural reverse-engineering perspective):

(1) EITHER they are NOT truly a "hive" culture -- because there is no apparent sharing of information (i.e. all these separate abductions are required because separate aliens are individually gathering data). This may be hopeful, it would show they possess and respect individuality.

(2) OR the abductions are not about "study" per se. Perhaps they are more about ongoing maintenance and manipulation. This is more scary. It would mean that we are their crop. They consider us property. Then it follows, there may be some sort of "harvest" in the future.

I think number 2 is the right answer

Maintenance is simply their job. Think of them as janitors in the Earth School.
There are other kinds which are teachers, principles, perhaps, but these guys do the physical work of making sure the biological part of life works properly

That being said, not every abduction case deals with physical things.
Some are out of body abductions, and sometimes the beings claim to "scan for light" inside, and seem to have technology which can monitor the spiritual development or "glow" of our inner beings. Or to monitor how well of a spiritual receptor is the human body, because after all that's what it was designed to do in the first place, I think

But majority of cases, deal with medical examinations.
