Dafara Creature?

Free episodes:

Cool. Thanks. Africa has some pretty cool monsters, probably more than any continent if we performed an extensive inventory.

Japan also has some cool ones. Last night I watched Keanu Reeves latest abomination 47 Ronin. It had some cool monsters, and actually wasn't that bad of a flick.

Catfish: I think it is a very large Catfish, there are several possible candidates, but I would guess at an "Clarias gariepinus" (African sharptooth Catfish).
Here is a picture of one:

and here is a picture of the "Holy Catfish of Dafara" being ritually fed:

Tourist tours are available to visit the sacred fish:

"The water in the pool quickly turned turbulent as the man held the chicken intestines over the water and the fish leapt and wriggled over each other in competition of the sacrificial snack. Their thick, black whiskers whipped over the rocks where we stood and their fins crashed tumultuously as more catfish joined the pile of chaos.

The feeding frenzy lasted about three minutes. As soon as the intestines were finished, our pooled portion of the river returned to its murky calm."

Someone should drop a camera down there to get a view of the creature.

I had a similar thought but using a rig with sonar, lights, bait and a camera, however when I reviewed the article to get a better idea of the location "located near the African city of Bobo Dioulasso in the West African savanna of Burkina Faso," = Dafara near Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso and entered this into google search: the first ten or so hits lead back to the article, but eventually I saw a "Tourist" trips to visit "the Holy Fish of Dafara (Burkina Faso)" being advertised and reviewed. After examining the photographs in the "tourist" article and comparing the text I have concluded that the original article was based on "real" events that have been recounted in an exaggerated way, to be honest the article seemed like it had been written a hundred years ago, judging by the language the author employed.

In a nutshell: if you would like to see the "creature of Dafara" all you need do is contact the relevant travel agent.

aye catfish.

Ebro river in spain is where i want to fish before i snuff it.

for carp, not cats, stuffed full of 40s that have never seen a hook bait in their lives.

anyway heres a 200ld cat coming ashore on a hook.

If I could I would like to go on a fishing trip with Izaac Walton in a pre-industrialised Britain.
Sadly I have not yet invented a working time machine, so imagining it is as close as I can get :).
I would also like to observe our ancestors on a mammoth hunt. OK I have said enough, back to la la land!.

aye carp fishing out of season on the ebro is cheap as chips han, april and may is best, the cats are dormant, and the carp feed frenetically while they can, otherwise the cats feed on them.

the employees of the fishing lodges are fulltime, so the off-season price's are tick-over prices, a fortnight at a good lodge with good bank, and several guided pre baited trips out, will set you back around 50 quid a day £700 including flights.

OP, my first guess is also catfish.

Have you seen A Passion For Angling? Otherwise you must, you'll love it!

Manx you've probably seen that since you're in BBC territory. Some nice carp fishing scenes for sure!
