Somebody inevitably already said it better than me but for some reason, I just assumed he'd go on forever.....:(

I mean, I'm gutted Lemmy has gone too but he had his 9 lives by 1972 never mind living til now....so while sad about Lemmy, for some reason David Bowie's death just hit me more savagely - I've never been his biggest fan but because he simply did so much great work, virtually everyone has many Bowie songs they love. Truly, truly 2 irreplaceable people.

I had a peripheral involvement with his organization in the late 1990s, when he actually set up an online service. I don't think it went anywhere, and I didn't get too far in trying to get him to agree to an interview for a tech column I wrote for the Arizona Republic at the time, but I had a free account for a while. It appears he left most of the chores of running the thing in the hands of his "people."

Did this have anything to do with those Bowie Bonds I heard about?

:(
Watch this if you haven't watched Flight of the Concords. A fitting tribute I feel.
It's a song called Bowie's in Space- the link is screwed but watch it on YouTube anyway.

Bowie's in space
Bowie's in space
Whatcha doin' out there, man?
That's pretty freaky, Bowie. (Ooh Bowie!)
Isn't it cold out in space, Bowie?
Do you want to borrow my jumper, Bowie?
Does the space cold make your nipples go pointy, Bowie?
Do you use your pointy nipples as telescopic antennae to transmit data back to Earth?
I bet you do you freaky old bastard you
Do you have one really funky sequined space suit, Bowie,
Or do you have several ch-changes?
Do they smoke grass out in space man, or do they smoke Astroturf? (Ooh!)

And Rob Sabino, who played keyboards on Let's Dance and other tunes Bowie recorded with Nile Rodgers, also did a recording session with my wife. It happened in the mid-80s. Song was good but it didn't fly. But Rob programmed a fabulous faux drum track and keyboard parts for us.

One of the criticisms I've heard about the modern system of music delivery is that it meant the death of album artwork. I never really gave much thought to that until I got reacquainted with the artwork on David's albums.
