Looks more like a a deep-sea squid kite to me. Maybe those aliens in a base down there are having some fun with a kite?

BTW theres a vid in that link, but this image really looks like a kit to me:

Lovecraft... This really screams out Lovecraft.

Makes you think about all those dreams/nightmares Lovecraft purportedly had, doesn't it?

Philip K. Dick is another well-documented case.

Thought exercise; Is there a link?

The things that should not be. There is a lot of creepy stuff under the Ice caps too.

There is a great Old Ones horror movie from Stuart Gordon called Dagon. It came out about 3 or 4 years ago on DVD. If you like that sort of stuff (which I reallllly do) you will dig this movie. Also if you want to go old school check out the Dunwich Horror.

I'm sure that's the same one that came on the Sci Fi channel several years ago. American actors but filmed in Spain? If so, it was pretty good for a SciFi channel movie.

No it wasn't an actual Sci-Fi channel produced movie. Stuart Gordon (Stuck, King of the Ants, Re animator movies ) made it and it was released over seas. You should see the non Sci-Fi channel movie version, The DVD release was a hard "R".

That's pretty cool. It's amazing how rare a lot of these animals are and considering the majority of our ocean depths are uncharted, I wouldn't be surprised if these things weren't so rare.

I think it may be Cthulhu himself! a Deep one forming in the abyss of eternal night! Shun the unbelievers! Shun!

what I do know is that squid isn't a Godless Commie squid though, it looks very sensible.

No way he's a fundamentalist, anti-octopus, sun hating heathen. Just look at him. He's definitely up to no good. Just sitting there with his junk all dangling about for the world to see.

If you dig the Stuart Gordon/Lovecraftian flicks, Do Not Miss 'From Beyond.'

From Beyond (1986)

Dagon is a great film, I think Stuart Gordon's best, and maybe the best movie ever made from a Lovecraft story/mythos.

Iyaa! Iyaa! C'thulhu F'thagn!

I agree, after posting in this thread about it, I threw it into my Netflix Q so I can re watch it.

Have you seen his latest movie called Stuck? Its about this girl who runs this guy over and then drives home with him stuck in the windshield. Its pretty brutal.
