I'm not quite sure how to link to individual MUFON reports. You can find this by searching for reports dated Jan 8th 2010, location=Hungary. The description appears to be in Hungarian too, for now. The sighting date is 2001-09-29.

If I had to put money on it though, I'd say it was probably a small object.

The description reads

"Budapest, Hungary - 2001. On 29 September, a Hungarian fighter pilot allegedly made a video recording of silver, disc-shaped object. Right hand approached the object, and then passed to the next plane, and disappeared into the clouds, as it appears on the tape well. The Defense Ministry did not respond to questions regarding video shooting, and also pointed out that they will not officially comment on the case. The denial notwithstanding, when fölvetõdött the pilot's name, it became apparent that the person really belongs to the Hungarian Air Force, and indeed carried out reconnaissance flight over the capital."

The clouds are definitely cumulus which could put the object between 1000 and 20,000 feet. The object looks fairly close to me but I have no skill in this sort of thing. I certainly do not get the impression that it is a small object. Again, I have no empirical data from which to draw that feeling. It is just a guess but i would say a 30 foot diameter disc. Maybe someone with more talent can take a look. For me at least, It looks like a very interesting photo. Perhaps others with more expertise will be able to lend their talents to this one.

That's a good one, and doesn't look either obviously fake or obviously mundane. Size is hard to tell. It could be a military drone I suppose. Do a Google image search for "military drone" and you'll see that many have odd flying wing or similar designs that might look like this.

But a military drone over Hungary near a commercial air traffic corridor? Doesn't seem likely.

Now... I wonder if MUFON could get in touch with this guy and see how he photographed this. If he did it with an analog camera, maybe he could let them subject the negative to an ultra-high-rez scan. If he photographed it digital, maybe he photographed it without JPEG compression turned on. Oh, and if it's a negative, do not compress the scan!

PSA: if you see a UFO, please turn off JPEG compression on your camera before snapping a photo of it if you can!

This is interesting. I have taken some unbelievable pictures of clouds over the ocean from a plane and it seemed like the level of atmospheric haze was a lot less.
