This is great. Make sure you save the radishes too....I really like them.

Why this is a scam:
You can only freeze or store seeds for a certain period of time before they have to be grown (in real soil, with real microorganisms, in the real world) and new seeds taken from the fruited plants.
Plants adapt to changes in the environment gradually. If you COULD viably save seeds in a vault for a couple of thousand years while the climate changes or radiation wipes out the land, the seeds you saved probably wouldn't do very well in the new environment.
The only way to 'save' the biosphere plants is to save the biosphere from getting wrecked.
This 'vault' thing is dumber than dirt and much more expensive.
We really are freakin' doomed.
http://www.seedsavers.org is a better idea.

i dont think its a total waste of time, i have for a long time kept pure bred dogs as pets. specifically rottweillers and chihuahua's.
and in making sure i get good animals ive had to take an interest in the local eugenics of the breeds which despite regular infusions of overseas stock, is still a pretty small and inbred load of bloodstock to choose from.
a snapshot of the genetic state of foodstocks seems a reasonable thing to do.
it is in fact inline with the seedsaver line of thinking, provided they remain viable these seeds will be the cottage varietys of the future.
